The Results are In
The Winners are Helen and Wendy. (Please email me your 411 - okay, that was kind of lame.) I should send Candy some yard art just for spite, but I'm praying for her ungrateful heart. Also, I think Helen knows me better than some family members.
And now lemme break it down for you people:
8 Things I MAY OR MAY NOT have done Yesterday:
1. Made red beans and rice for lunch.
True - It was from a box, but it was sprinkled with love.
2. Shot a man just to watch him die.
False - I did not shoot a man to watch him die. On Wednesday.
3. Sent Donald Miller* a tweet with the word frigintastic and got a response to said tweet.
True - He posted a twitpic of a bar that I may or may not have patronized in downtown Austin. I asked if the pic was from downtown Austin, frigintastic! His response: "Absolutely. An Awesome Town." Not so wordy in the non-book setting.
4. Threatened to kick my kids out in the rain if they messed up my clean house.
True - That's a no brainer.
5. Got rave reviews from Simon Cowell after singing "Jenny" on American Idol for Wii.
False - I did not play the Wii on Wednesday. But I totally rock that song.
6. Alphabetized my spice rack.
False - I do not own a spice rack. We buy our spices in big redneck vats.
7. Took an extra dose of Ginkgo Biloba for good measure.
True - Having kids home from school unexpectedly requires contingency plans.
8. Booked 2 appointments with potential new clients for next week.
True - I'm fixin' to get really busy.
8 Shows I MAY OR MAY NOT Watch
1. Best Show in the History of Television (also known as The Deadliest Catch)
True - nuff said.
2. Dancing with the Stars
False - That show is for girly girls. I'm not exactly rocking a mullet and birkenstock sandals, but I have a bit more testosterone than your average female. And say what you will about the athletic prowess of Emmitt Smith, as far as I'm concerned, he surrendered his man card when he agreed to be on that show.
3. CSI Miami
False - Sorry - David Caruso as Grown-up Angry Opie from The Andy Griffin Show doesn't do it for me.
4. CSI NY
True - That show rocks.
5. CSI Las Vegas
True - That show also rocks. Even though I really miss Grissom and Warrick Brown. I loved me some Grissom and Warrick Brown!
6. Dirtiest Jobs
True - Mike Rowe is the second sexiest man alive, my dh being the numero uno.
7. Myth Busters
True - Blowing stuff up is awesome. Plus, if I were a tv star, I would want to be Kari Byron. She's an artist and a knife thrower. How cool is that? She also referred to someone as a hippy, crystal gripping tree hugger on the show.
8. The Office
True That's what she said.
8 Things I Wish I Could Do (or might actually be able to do):
1. Paint with either hand.
True - I am right/left brain confused, but sometimes it comes in handy.
2. Juggle.
False - I am a klutz of epic proportions. Juggling requires eye hand coordination.
3. Write song parodies a-la Weird Al Yankovitz.
True - I once wrote Christian lyrics to "Walk This Way" by Aerosmith. It's not something I'm proud of, but it was my friend J.D.'s going away gift. I also wrote a parody of the song "Church on Fire" for a departing pastor who was fond of the tacky Hawaiin shirt entitled "Shirt on Fire". I do not heart that song.
4. Recite the preamble to the Constitution.
True - I grew up on Schoolhouse Rock.
5. Play the harmonica.
False - Although I play slightly better than Alanis Morrisette.
6. Roller Skate backwards.
True - I am ALL up in that! I can skate better backward than forwards.
7. Make awesome chicken enchiladas.
True - They are awesomatastic!
8. Sing "American Pie" in its entirety (the long version) by memory.
False - Sad, but true. Dig that song, though.
8 Things I MAY OR MAY NOT be Looking Forward To:
1. Meeting some of my bloggity gal pals this summer.
True - Heck yeah!
2. Tomorrow.
True - New day. Fresh start.
3. Redoing my guest bathroom.
True - I'm planning on making a mancave for my dh.
4. Old age.
True - Even though I wish I had more nieces and nephews. Crazy Aunt Kathy has a nicer ring to it than my Crazy Mother.
5. Catching up on a season's worth of American Idol on Tivo.
False - That show made me mad when they voted off Dirty Rocker Chris Daughtry. I watch from time to time, but I think this year's talent is rather sucktacular.
6. Going to my husband's high school reunion.
True - Like I'm gonna say False. He reads my blog, you know. Not every day, mind you. But it's sort of like random drug testing. You just never know. Besides, what's not to like about being around a bunch of people telling you stuff about your spouse that you might not know?
7. Going to Japan with my mom someday soon.
True - Although I'll probably have to sell a kidney to be able to afford it.
8. The premiere of the movie "New Moon".
True - Also, did you know that there's a 5th book? Twilight from Edward Cullen's perspective. Oh, heck yeah!
There you have it. Thirty-two things you never wanted to know about katdish. I will now open up the comments section to completely random and totally unrelated comments...

I still hold that I was right. I don't think you can be trusted to know the answers to your own questions, Bella.
How many Ginkgo Biloba shots did you take?
Wow! If you'd mentioned that the Flamingos were being devoured by mutant ball-bearing monsters I may have entered.
Oh, yeah... nice answers and all that.
How can you paint with either hand and yet not be able to juggle? Wait. I can juggle but can't paint at all. Never mind.
And no 24 on your tv show list?! I may revoke your honorary man card for that. (By the way, I'm giving you an honorary man card. We all voted.)
I quit watching American Idol when they kicked Daughtry off, too. Losers.
Watch soon for contests on Helen and Wendy's blogs. Giveaway - pink flamingos.
I'm all up in that.
That's what she said.
Had I known the ultimate shape of the lawn art in question I might have actually tried to win. I'd proudly put that in front of the youth building.
No NCIS? I so want to be Zeva. She is a bad a** (and how cool would it be have been a Mossad.)
And there was a contest? Hmmm, I must have missed it because I work for a living. Dang...
The Dirtiest Jobs with the slime eels made me vurp, but I couldn't look away....yeah, I think I secretly like that show, too. I think I just grew a mullet.
I'm impressed about your roller skating abilities. My summer goal is to teach my pastor's wife to skate. I know....reach for the stars. Just don't make them dance.
Ok, I really do like Dancing with the Stars, I just rarely watch it. I do watch the actual ballroom competitions on PBS. Because that part of me is totally girly girl.
Speaking of being a girly girl, I have bought makeup, got a hair cut, and bought a dress all in the last two weeks for no apparent reason?? Wuddup wid dat?
You'll have to excuse me, we watched Step Up 2 the Streets last night. It's not supposed to be funny, but it was. And the dancing was sweet. FRANK was the one who brought it home. I know. Talk about man cards being revoked...
Okay. I'm going to be gone for 3 days on my Emmaus walk this weekend, so I had to annoy you sufficiently to make up for being gone.
I'm out.
I'm a little hurt by the Dancing with the Stars dig. Although initially coerced to watch it by my significant other, I enjoy watching half-naked, well-toned dancers parade around in a family-friendly environment. Those girls are hot!
And yes...I do wear pink. My wife finds it sexy on me.
Great list. Learned a lot about you...Katdish rocks!
I officially now know too much...
No seriously, you sound... AWESOME! I love Deadliest Catch... although, when it came to cutting shows, I gave up that while my wife gave up Dancing with the Stars... it's a good trade to be honest.
Keep up the craziness. I like it.
Annie - Zeva rocks my world. She gets a man card, too.
Thank you, Katdish. I will treasure it especially knowing that you and Wendy have the same thing out on your lawns.
Shut Up - that's none of your business.
Shark Bait et.al. - the mutant ball-bearing monsters are not part of the fabulous prize package. They are, however, the only thing I would seriously considering purchasing from the skymall catalog.
Billy - 24 is one of those shows I prefer to rent the entire season of and enjoy in one sitting while sipping on a six pack of low-carb monster.
Candy - you're totally getting some lawn art.
Annie K - It's really a matter of priorities. Also, I'm trying to waste as much time as possible as I will actually be working a bunch very soon.
Beth - Have an awesome walk. I'm jealous.
Tony C - You get a pass on the man card revocation because you are a conservative drummer with a wick awesome picture on your blog header. Even though some of your ipod selections are a bit questionable in their manliness.
Bman - that would be a painful trade. Fortunately, Deadliest Catch is also one of my dh's favorite shows and he has no interest in dancing shows, or ice capades for that matter.
Thank you, Helen. You're the only one who really understands me...
I just read your guest post on stuffchrsitianslike about church plants, and I have to say...pure brilliance. My church's second motto (the one after the one about Jesus and stuff) is 'I swear we're not a cult.' We're going to Sharpee it on our professional looking 'Vineyard Community Church' shirts. You know, just in case someone got the wrong idea.
Annie K, I always liked Abbey best and wish I could be DiNozzo, but we all know I'm McGee.
Beth,
I've bought the same stuff, what's the big deal?
I can't wait to get my valuable prize! Will it say "Fra-gee-lay" on the box? And for those of you who are wondering, yes, I will totally be putting it out in my yard! I may even dress it up for the different holidays throughout the year. Pink flamingo love. Get some, people!
Anne Rice+Danielle Steele=your vampire books. Sorry, friend. Glad you're at least reading!! :) Half of the nation won't even do that!
though i'm not much of a tv watcher, i totally love The Office! they're all so very quirky...is it that we relate to them in some odd, quirky way?!?!
and, i LOVE that you know the preamble to the Constitution!!! School House Rock rocks!! we the people, in order to form a more perfect [blog] union, establish justice, ensure domestic tranquilityyyyyyy.... yes, i, too, can recite it (with a bit of humming in and bobbing of my head!)...got extra credit in 9th grade for being able to write it all out on a test! :) and, i LOVE "interjections!" [Hey! That smarts! Ouch! That hurts!
Yow! That's not fair givin' a guy a shot down there!]
ok. enough said. but if you ever want to freshen up on your songs, i have the whole set on dvd! :)
