High Calling Blogs

I am so excited! My blogging buddy Bradley J. Moore from The Shrinking Camel did a write up on me over on the The High Calling Blogs. This is akin to William F. Buckly doing a write up on Larry the Cable Guy. But whatever, I'll take it.

Thank you so much Bradley. I am honored. And your timing could not have been better, because all I had for today was some pictures of buzzards eating what may or may not have been our neighbor's cat in our back yard:

Win-win.

In conclusion, I would just like to say:

Bradley did a great write-up of you.

You deserved it though, you're pretty awesome!

Ah, the majestic birds of prey.

Awwww...why no link to the PCB, Bradley J. Moore??

What the?? Those are some serious buzzards!

And speaking of cats...I think a new one adopted us. Sigh. Yesterday I was outside and it wouldn't leave me alone. I said to it..."Go to your home, cat!" It said..."Meow. Meow." But I'm pretty sure it meant, "You ARE my home! You kitty complete me!" Siiiiigh.

You are such a goof.

Hey Look a Buzzard... It could work.

1) Bradley did a great job. And you deserve it, katdish. You really do.
2) I think I might link the buzzard picture in my comment section for yesterday's anonymous commenter. What do you think?

You even manage to handle an accolade with humor and grace.

Very cool! Well, I assume since I haven't read the other, but I'm getting there don't worry... Sheesh. :)

I'm wondering. Are they buzzards or vultures? I'm told buzzards eat the living and the dead--and have much bigger talons. Protect your pets. But vultures stick to the dead. Your pets are safe.

(Actually, I just made all of that up. But I couldn't resist.)

If I had pictures of the event, I would so post them. A lady at my church was traumatized last year when she let her Pomeranian (sp?) out in the backyard and a giant buzzard swooped down, grabbed it and took off. She was crying. I was secretly giggling inside at the visual that gave me. Yes I need prayer.

It's a scary situation when our giant buzzards are no longer waiting for animals to become roadkill before officially coming after them. It's clear we're in the End Times.

Peter - thanks, I really don't, but thanks.

Shark Bait - they are lovely, no?

Beth - Thanks for sharing about the wayward cat. You crack me up.

Steph - I know you are but what am I?

Billy - I am what I am.

Helen - I want to send you the actual buzzards for that (dirty word).

Jennifer - Thanks. That's really nice.

Jason - Well hurry up and go shower me with praise!

Marcus - You totally had me going, there. I'm so gullible sometimes.

Marni - It's just scary how much you and I think alike sometimes.

Dang, you've got some weird looking Sparrows there in Texas! I guess eating neighbors cats make them that big.

Marni said...

Wendy, they are indeed the epitome of "everything is bigger in Texas" I may or may not have hit one with my Jeep several years ago...while the top was down (they are so big and cocky, they don't even fly off when a car is approaching). I may or may not have had to pull over and do a little road side puking at the smell of hitting and splattering a vulture/buzzard or whatever it is. Remember, you are what you eat, and what you eat smells ungodly when you are a bird of prey...

If pressed I'm able to wax poetic on gruesome but I'm way out of my league here.

Awesome. I like how it's ambiguous about the cat... hmm...

And, the Sally Field acceptance speech sounds pretty accurate.

Ahh - VERY cool - and a well-deserved write-up. Good on you!

I love the pic of the one sitting on the edge of the swing set, as if to say "hey, you have little kids, right? Well then, bump the cat. I can wait..."

Okay Katdelicious, I finally made it to your Blog again (you know this thing I have called WORK really keeps me from all this blogging and tweeting stuff)and all I want to say is TA-Da! Star for a Day! I hope you basked fully in it. I meant everything I said that day. Oh, sorry, why did I have to put in a qualifier? You know what I mean. Love the Sally Fields academy speech. Only you could have thunk that up. I heart your big bag of crazy.

Boy, buzzards eating cat or a post about Katdish. Choices...

I'm glad Bradley had something to say!

Wendy - what Marni said.

Marni - snort! I can totally see you doing that.

Anne - oh come on! You can do it!

Brian - yeah, she ripped off that speech from my 8th grade drama acceptance award ceremony.

JoAnne & Nancy - thank you!

Jeff - If we were still meeting here for church, that would be a really good way to make sure parents picked up their kids on time!

Bradley - I can't thank you enough. That was so great for you to do that. Big bag of crazy? That's a keeper.

Tina - read you comment over there. Thank you so much. That meant a lot to me.

Annie - I know, right?
