Another Top Ten List: Twilight Edition

Hello my friends. It's been awhile since I posted a top ten list, and since I just finished reading Twilight and watching the movie, I've been inspired to share another one with you.

The Top Ten things I may or may not have been inspired to do after reading/watching Twilight:

Number 10:
Delete everything from my flair board on Facebook and heretofore only accept Edward Cullen/Twilight flair.

Number 9:
Throw out my bare minerals loose powder and buy a shade 4 shades lighter than my natural skin color.

Number 8:
Refuse to answer to any name other than Bella or Alice.

Number 7:
Begin to think that my klutzy tendencies are downright adorable.

Number 6:
Wonder how my husband would look with bronze hair.

Number 5:
Start acting like a fourteen year old angst-filled girl.

Number 4:
Have my teeth whitened and sharpened.

Number 3:
Buy a new Twilight calendar and begin marking the days off until the "New Moon" movie premiere with a red Sharpie.

Number 2:
Secretly replace my husband's moisturizing lotion with glittering after-sun lotion.

Number 1:
Finish this blog post, lock myself in my room and finish reading the second book in the series.

Gotta go now...talk amongst yourselves....

My wife, sister and sister-in-law all got addicted to this series. I did break down and watch the movie, but I don't think I'll ever go for the books. Thanks for the laughs. One quick question, what's SCL? You said you found my blog through that. Just wondering. Thanks!

katdish said...

Chris,

SCL is Stuff Christians Like written by Jon Acuff. He's like my bloggity sarcasm guru.

BTW - Someone left a link to your blog on this post:

Who is Funny?

Hmmm... I already have pasty-white skin and somewhat pointy teeth. Should I read these books?

My wife blew through the series in about two days. I watched *part* of the movie with her. Reminded me of how I felt after watching Harry Potter! And we'll just leave it at that.

I didn't make it through the movie either. Or the last 4 Harry Potters either. Hopefully it won't ruin my standing in life...

(They filmed Twilight in Oregon and all of the people in 'the valley' where they filmed it look like that. It's called 'lack of sun and too much rain.')

Uh oh. Katdish is gonna take you down, Matt....don't be dissing Harry Potter...

I have thus far managed to avoid all things Twilight, mostly for fear that my Man Card would be revoked (and seriously, wasn't Buffy the Vampire Slayer the apex of all things vampire anyway? How could you possibly improve upon that?).

But I have to admit, I'm a little intrigued now.

Nick the Geek said...

um, so I thought you were working on 5 all this time.

Beth said...

Ouch. Now NICK is the one with a low blow. The preacher boys musta had a bad Sunday yesterday...

I saw the movie at Christmastime with my sister in law who was reading the series.

I thought it was OK. I don't really care for vampires myself.

My neice won a poster at the theatre so she was thrilled.

I'm also pasty white- so I didn't even notice that he was "different". I just thought he may be a long lost (blood-thirsty) relative.

I don't like vampires. They are scarey. The only monster I like is Cookie Monster. I feel like we understand eachother. "Me like cookie. Me want cookie. Umumumumumumum ummmmmmmuuuuuummmm." It's like we are twins separated at birth.

wv. lards. Katdish, how could you? ;-)

Beth said...

But what about Bunnicula, Helen????

katdish said...

Wendy - Yes. You should totally read Twilight.

Matt - I HATE it when you just leave it at that. Bring it, Foo!

Annie - Oh, I'm totally coming to visit you.

Beth - nothing for days, now you're making up for lost time. Kewl.

Billy - Seriously. I think your mancard is safe. But you should check out Dr. Awesome's blog just to be safe.

Nick - I would have gotten further into the series, but I've been really busy lately. Plus, I had to watch the movie on PPV four times.

Sherri & Helen - Edward is a good vampire. He doesn't want to be a monster. Also, he is shiny...

Helen said...

Beth, Bunnicula is not a monster. He is just misunderstood....

katdish, number 5 was about acting like a 14 year old angst filled girl.

Beth said...

By the way...your daughter's lyrics to Mighty to Save had me in half-faced hysterics. ;/

katdish said...

Nick - Sorry, I've got vampires on the brain today. I'm thinking of changing the name of this blog to "Ooo, Shiny Vampire!"

Beth - Now there's an emoticon I like!

Nick the Geek said...

katdish, I can see how you are fascinated with them. I mean vampires are cool under normal circumstances but then you combine that with ADD and shiny ... its a wonder that young girls can do anything but watch the scene with the disco ball vampire hybrid in the sun over and over ....

I'm just glad pasty may be coming into style, but I'm not holding my breath...

I'm 39 and I blew through the Twilight series too - I couldn't put them down...I really hate to admit that I was so enamored with something so popular with teenage girls - it really goes against everything in me. I have always been a vampire fan though - I wanted to be one when I was 12ish...and I didn't even know vegan vampire was an option...how perfect! Then the Buffy series came along...I loved it! (always liked Spike)
So Kathy - just get it over with and finish the series...then life can continue on as "normal"...until then, if you're like me, you'll just be distracted and want to return to Forks.

Nick - my one complaint about the movie was that Edward wasn't nearly shiny enough.

Jason - haven't you heard? White is the new tan!

Anonymous - seriously, setting up a gmail account takes less time than emptying a bottle of jergens and replacing it with glittery after sun glow. (So I've been told.)

Wendy said...

My hubby is totally into vampires. Movies, books, whatever. But for some reason he wants nothing to do with Twilight. Do you think he's afraid of shiny things?

Nick the Geek said...

Wendy,

Vampires are suppose to be dark and scary not sparkly and ... what's the opposite of scary?

Speaking of vampires, has anyone read Dracula? It is a really fascinating story told through journal entries and letters. Great plot device.

Hey guys! I'm home! Did you miss me?

I have only one comment, and I can't believe it hasn't been addressed by even one of the 24 that preceded mine:

YOUR HUSBAND USES MOISTURIZER? DOES HE KNOW YOU JUST SPREAD IT ON THE BLOGOSPHERE?

Nick, this is totally a question for Dr. Awesome.

wv: phoogrut

The sound of coffee gushing out of someone's nose after reading a comment by Nick the Geek.

He wishes.

Dude I blew through all 4 books and read the partial 5th book on Stephenie Meyer's site. That's how far gone I am with this series ;-) I blame my daughter. I read it to make sure it was okay she could read it and I got hooked. She did the same dang thing to me when she was 7 and wanted to read Harry Potter. I got hooked on those too.

I got her back though. She kept busting me reading my Bible and laughing, crying or going "I had NO idea that's what You meant God" and she started reading it...and got hooked ;-)

Katdish (s'cuse me, I meant Bella) this was a fun post! I'm off to read your others since I've been without internet access and feel all left out...

Stacey said...

I am so glad you are reading the books! I was skeptical about them, but I decided to give them a try. I now have a whole lot of big red monkey butt love for Edward Cullen.

P.S. Book 3, Eclipse, is my favorite. Enjoy!

Marni- I had no idea there was going to be a 5th....I thought that since the end of Breaking Dawn said "the end" that it was...the end.....ooooh...I giddy as a 14 year old. (this is so embarrassing)

Kathy - you win...I have my own account now...happy?

-Tam

btw - I couldn't help but like Jacob...but yeh- but Edward has the heavy sigh factor

katdish said...

NtG - Hall-looooo!? Interview with a Vampire? Admittedly, Tom Cruise makes me vurp, but Brad Pitt? Frigintastic!

Steph - not so much moisturizer as manly body salve, but usually only after a body wax. (KIDDING, RON!)

Marni - seriously, you are like a shorter version of me.

Stacey - Does Hucklebuck have any sparkly man salve?

OH PAINT BUDDY! You've made me so happy!

*sigh* I read all 4 books in 2 days! I am in love. With a dead, sparkly guy... *sigh, slight drooling*
