Possible Fodder for your Blog

Are you one of those bloggers that subscribe to or are a member of one of those sites that helps you with ideas and ways to get more traffic on your blog? Yeah, me neither. But some of my blogger friends do this and I think it's kind of cool. Since I had tons of fun with a meme (I don't even know what that means) that Steph sent to me, I thought I throw one of my own out there. This is an idea that's been rolling around in my head for a few days. In case you don't know me that well, that's kinda like hanging out at the video arcade: It's fun every now and then, but it can become dangerous if frequented too often. Anyway, here's my premise:

Put aside the fact that that just might be the lamest puppet in the history of video and work with me here. I feel for Chris Rice because that song is probably one of his better known ones yet it is not representative of the rest of his body of work. Sort of like "Awesome God" by Rich Mullins. While it's probably his most recognized song, it's really not in the same vein as most of his work. Incidentally, I've been told that he wrote that song while he was sitting in traffic and was getting angry at the other drivers around him. But I digress...

I plan to work on this idea and post it on Tuesday. I am going to select bloggers from my blogroll and throw some others in (because I read more blogs than are on my roll) and assign them cartoon characters or fictional characters that I feel best relates to them. It might be based on personal appearance, character traits, or a combination of the two. I will probably be way off on some, but I promise I'll be considerate and not post anything that anyone might find offensive or might unintentionally hurt some one's feelings. I might screw that up, too. But I want you to know before I do it that that is not my intent. It's just stuck in my head and I gotta shake it out. In the meantime, if anyone else wants to do this, I think it might be fun. Plus, I'm curious to see what you come up with for me. Oh, and just so we get this one off the table, I don't want to see this one:

Did I just hear a collective "Dang!"?

P.S. - I've been playing around with my blog layout a little. No big changes, just trying to add another column. So, hopefully it will look a little better soon. (Not "fancy", just better)

Yeah, we'll see.

Aw shucks, Sherri. I really meant that!

Ha-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-leluja! I like it, (so long as I am not Porky or Petunia PIg). This sounds like fun. I will think about assigning cartoon characters to you gals (and guys). First I have to see if I can think of any.
Oh, and I love this song. Too bad Chris Rice didn't write more like it. ;-)

I have it on good authority that Chris Rice regrets writing this song. Well, maybe not writing it, but recording it. It has become a necessary evil to play at all his concerts to keep his fans happy.

If I had to be a cartoon character, I would like to be Hello Kitty.

Oh! or the mighty B....that's my favorite new cartoon.

"You" in title should be "your"....

heartafire, I think I LOVE YOU!

I hate that katdish HAS A TYPO IN HER TITLE ,but the fact that someone pointed it out just made my day/night!

(I'm certain that somehow, I will be blamed for it as she bashes by typing skills, or lack thereof, on a regular basis!)

p.s. Congratulations on your pothead remark on my blog site PICTURE CAPTION CONTEST

YOU ARE THE WINNER!

(Only because my hubby is an ex-pothead who was the fianl judge!)

Glad to know you are both recovered and covered by His Mercy!

p.p.s.

A fianl judge is a yiddish term for
"the last word".

IT WAS NOT A TYPO!

heartafire,

Oh snap! Thanks for that...I'm glad you caught that before Sherri did. I'd never hear the end of it!

Beckey - Ahhh, Hello Kitty! Since my mom is Japanese, I had Hello Kitty stuff way back when it was just cheap crap from Japan. (As opposed to today, when it's expensive crap from Japan.) And thanks for making me feel validated -- I thought I was the only one who loved the Mighty B. That show ROCKS!

Helen - I have a couple in mind for you, but none of them are Loony Tunes characters.

Thanks Katdish. So long as I'm not a pig, I think I'll be cool. I look forward to seeing who you matched me with.

Uh....This is one of the songs I can't stand. Seriously. When it comes on I'll switch to country (and I like country even less). Are you going to put me in this video? I'd rather do Brittany Spears. I'm just sayin'.

wv: preri

Cris Rice got left in the preri for writing this song...

katdish said...

Brittney Spears?!?! Pull-ease! Oh no, but I think you'll like what I've come up with for you...

Way past my bedtime (again)! Later gators!

I have to agree with Annie K here. I have always HATED that song. :(

I do, however, like you katdish! Thanks for the comment on my book post (way to keep the axe murderer theme going - nicely done). I, too, am a Harry Potter fan - gasp!

Now I must try to go to bed. Insomnia strikes again... and on a Saturday night no less. Here's hoping we don't have any long "pray silently" moments tomorrow at church.

BTW The Jessica Rabbit comment was not Bob.

I don't think I've been around long enough to be associated with a cartoon character. However, since my icon is a cartoon character, let's stick with WW, if you don't mind (just in case I was being considered). I mean, this is the only time I'm ever thought of as a 6' tall brunette who is 36-24-36. In reality, well, I'm not and I'll leave it there.

I like this song, but not before I finish my coffee, which I'm not finished yet, so I didn't watch the entire video.

Sherri, you said "I'm certain that somehow, I will be blamed for it as she bashes by typing skills, or lack thereof, on a regular basis!)"
Sorry, but it should be "MY" typing skills, not "BY". If we're gonna point the finger, let's start with ourselves, shall we? Now what did I do wrong? I'd better go back and check....

katdish said...

Wait...I think Christy is now in the running for my BFF because she pointed out one of Sherri's typos that I missed. Nice!

And yeah, I was going to include you in my little cartoon association game, but you were in the category of "Obvious Choices". Incidentally, since you are not, in fact, a 6' tall brunette who is 36-24-36, my image of you is completely shattered.

Kat, My mil is Japanese! I spend a lot of time nodding and smiling when I'm around her, but I love her dearly. She calls me Beckey-san.

katdish said...

Beckey - Okay, this cracks me up about my mom: She's lived in the states for over 50 years, so you'd think she would have lost some of her accent...yeah, not so much. When I was a kid, I would automatically translate what my mom was saying to my friends. (Granted, she was speaking English.) She does have some delightful pronounciations:

The furniture store IKEA? "I-eek-key"

fajitas? "juanitas"

She cracks me up.

Wow, maybe someday I'll get to be a cartoon character... Everyone's gotta have a dream. Or nightmare. Whatever.
