Bragging Rights

From time to time, I reserve the right to use "Hey look, a chicken" as a vehicle to be a proud mama hen and display stuff my kids do. This is one of those times. Without further ado, I give you a poem written by my 4th grade son, Cameron:
I am William B. Travis
I wonder when this war will end
I hear screams of dead men
I see death
I want this war to end
I am William B. Travis
I pretend I am not here
I feel confident
I touch my rifle
I worry I might die
I cry to God I will be alive
I am William B. Travis
I understand that I must do my duty
I say I want freedom
I dream that I will see my family again
I try not to worry
I hope this war will end soon
I am William B. Travis
I'm a little vaclempt....talk amongst yourselves.....

Wow, that was pretty intense for a 4th grader. You should be very proud! Oh, and the comment you left me today about "blog fart" really cracked me up, Kathy!

Ummm don't know if I'm welcome here? (Don't want to be too pushy) but I found you through Justines blog. I have to tell you first "that darn kid of yours is scary smart" Followed by "I LMAO for a good 20 minutes while I read your blog" I'm old and urinary incontinence can be an issue....Haha that TRUMPS your ADHD don't it! Ahem...sorry....I had a bit of a grandstanding moment. Vanna/aka lvroftiques on RMS. And I was just kiddin' about that old urinary bit....NO REALLY!

Vanna,

Do you mind if I call you Vanna? That other name is too hard to spell! ALL are welcome here! Even the old and incontinent. (not that this applies to you, of course - but I'm just saying...)

Thanks for stopping by and commenting. You gave me quite a LMAO moment myself!

Since, you've welcomed the old and incontinent, can I join in too? LOL
I love your space on RMS and I am very impressed with your son's poem. It was very moving and quite profound for such a young man. He should keep writing. Does he journal?

Blgeee!

Not to sound like a suck-up, but you are one of my RMS heroes! I'm so glad you found my blog.

Sadly, my son does not journal. I will probably sign him up for a creative writing class this summer, but he's a pretty typical boy and is more interested in doing boy stuff. He is an avid reader, which is probably one of the reasons he writes so well.

Thanks again for stopping by, and please check out my other blog - "Not Gollum's Blog". You can click on my profile view to get to it.
