Hurricane Ike: They were not kidding...
Update: As of 4:00 a.m. this morning, our power is out again and it's been raining pretty hard since about midnight. Our yard looks like a wetland habitat, but we are still counting our blessings. We were spared the worst of Ike's fury. I dare not complain about the minor inconvenience of lost electricity since many lost much, much more...
Hang in there, my soggy neighbors.

Glad you're all ok.
But if the power is out, how are you blogging? A really good battery?
I'm glad you're okay. I've prayed for you and your neighbors every time I heard the words "Hurricane Ike" this weekend.
Kathy,
I really enjoy reading your blog. I so love your sense of humor. Thanks so much for the work of art you did at our house. All the advice on the bed room was great. We have added some black lamps now as well. Thanks for the niche. I love how it brings out the flower arrangement. Glad you all came through the storm. We did as well. Lost power, but nothing else really. One outside light is hanging by the wires. ha A few slanted trees. A storm reminds you that you are not in charge and life is fragile. Praising God.

Jamie - we had a generator, so we were able to power the essentials: freezer, refrigerator, water well and septic. And of course, a tv and a computer...
My closet readers are slowly coming out of the closet!
Sherrie - I'm so glad you like the work that Tam and I did. I thought the niche turned out especially well. Of course, I forgot to take "after" pictures, so if you get a chance, could you send some my way?
Glad to hear you weathered the storm. I'm still amazed at all the devestation. We all need to continue to pray for our neighbors and be the hands and feet of Jesus at every opportunity.
